This picturesque remnant of the Timber industry stands on spindly legs two kilometers south of Kingfisher Bay Resort. It was once used to transport timber from Central Station by rail out to barges waiting in the bay. From there the timber was taken by barge to mills on the mainland. It was decommissioned in 1925 when the introduction of special low range trucks superceded the rail system. Logging was the dominant industry on the island from 1863 to 1991. Relics such as this old jetty can still be found scattered around Fraser. They serve as interesting reminders of different times and attitudes towards the island
