Angophora’s after fire, Fraser Island.
After a wildfire in 2011 these two Angophoras (Angophora leiocarpa) really stood out in the forest that was made up of mostly black trees and white sand. For this image, the moon provided most of the light. I used my head torch to highlight the branches. This technique is a bit like painting with light. The small white lines in the image are the stars as they move across the night sky. You can make out the constellation of Orion in the top right of the image.
